The Western Gateway Building is the largest building on the university campus at 25,000m² and accommodates Computer Science, the School of Mathematical Sciences, Microelectronics, Pharmacology, Physiology and a Cancer Research unit.
WestLAN were awarded the contact to install a 4,500 Cat6A F/FTP project for the UCC flagship building.
As well as the internal fibre backbone WestLAN installed 2500m of external Singlemode fibre on diverse routes to existing UCC buildings to provide an infrastructure with no single point of failure.
